Torbjörn Square, located in one of Uppsala’s northern neighborhoods, will feature ninety homes above a grocery store. The square building will have a large private courtyard with room for play and socializing. By giving Torbjörn Square a modern update, we can bring it back to the community hub it once was.
The building’s white stucco facade will blend into the surrounding urban environment while the wood elements on balconies and terraces will add warmth.
Throughout our planning, we have paid careful attention to preserve the line of sight from the northern entrance to the Uppsala Cathedral. This reduces the scale of the building and provides space for balconies overlooking the city center. Residents enter their homes from side streets, while shops and services meet the square to the north on the ground floor. We look forward to revitalizing Torbjörn Square into a welcoming space for residents and visitors alike.
