The Life in Motion Project
The way in which we build our city affects the health and well-being of all those who live and work here.
The freedom to safely and efficiently take a bike to work, instead of a car.
Access to safe, inviting walkways.
These are examples of infrastructure decisions that encourage adults to live an active lifestyle. But even more importantly, we think children and young people should have the opportunity to ‘move’ through their daily lives. To make this vision a reality, we have started the “Life in Motion” project. Whether it’s the simple act of donating a pair of shoes to a child in need or paying the fee for a child to play football, we are committed to making a difference. Is it providing new water bottles for all youth sports clubs, sponsoring a sports tournament or building a desperately needed new swimming pool for a local swim club? We don’t have all the answers so we need your help with ideas and support. Tell us what’s needed or apply for a contribution yourself. Let’s give more of Uppsala’s youth a life in motion.
