Modern town houses in an urban garden.
Located in the center of Uppsala, the Kåbo neighborhood is characterized by turn of the century villas surrounding Linnaeus’ botanical garden. It was therefore important to respect the area’s heritage and natural beauty when creating new villa accommodations. In planning Kåbo Park, we chose to preserve the old nature park with large trees and open spaces. The 28 large, bright and airy apartments have spacious balconies.
Much thought was given to combining design and function with the area’s delicate cultural character. The apartments are housed in two large, four-story buildings flanked on either side by two townhouses. The buildings feature bay windows on two floors as well as wraparound balconies. These balconies help the newer structures integrate naturally into the neighborhood. Furthermore, the large windows combined with the building’s cedar and dark gray facing work well with the area’s detached houses and green spaces.
